Dozens of cultural organizations, publishers and writers from Iran have arranged a wide variety of programs to represent Iran as a major part of the ancient route that once facilitated a cultural dialogue between the colorful cultures in many places in the world.

The Alhoda International Publishing Group, Saless, Candle and Fog, Farhang Moaser, and Qoqnus are among the publishing companies, which are displaying their latest offerings at the event.

Groups of Iranian writers are currently at the fair to promote their books and also attend various meetings arranged by the organizers.

Among the authors is Hushang Moradi Kermani, the children’s writer whose works have been translated into several languages.

Elham Sadat Mirzania, the author of a Chinese-Persian dictionary, and Marzieh Soleimani, the translator of American Sinologist Herrlee Glessner Creel’s “Chinese Thought, from Confucius to Mao Tsê-tung”, are also in attendance at the fair.

Iran also plans to organize a festival of most acclaimed movies from Iranian filmmakers in Beijing during the book fair.

Six films, including Asghar Farhadi’s Oscar-winning drama “The Salesman” and Abbas Kiarostami’s “Shirin”, have been selected to screen at the festival.

A number of Iranian cultural officials are also at the book fair for establishing close working relations with the participating international publishers and cultural organizations.

Iran is welcoming visitors at its pavilion located at the entrance of West Hall 2 of the New China International Exhibition Center (NCIEC).

The Beijing International Book Fair will run until August 27.
