In a press conference held in Beijing on Friday, Gholamreza Noei, the director of the foreign department of the Iran Cultural Fairs Institute (ICFI), elaborated on different programs that Iran arranged for the fair, the ICFI reported on Saturday.

“The delegation is composed of a team of nine Iranian writers and three illustrators,” he said, adding that the representatives of 13 publishers and three literary agencies will also accompany the group.

Three bands from Iran are scheduled to give performances and exhibitions by Iranian illustrations will also be organized.

A group of writers will attend the fair to promote their latest offerings.

Several Iranian traditional performances such as naqqali, which is a style of storytelling dedicated to Shahnameh epic stories, and a festival of Iranian films will also be organized.

The Iranian cultural attaché in China, Mohammad Rasul Almasieh, also attending the conference, said that the fair is a good opportunity to introduce Iran’s art and culture.

In addition, Iran’s Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA) will display a collection of 100 publications. 

Iran will attend the book fair with the motto “Iran, the Colorful Dream of Silk Road”.

A pavilion covering an area of 500-square meters has been dedicated to Iran at the Beijing fair running from August 23 to 27.
