Selected as the guest of honor, Iran will attend the upcoming edition of BIBF with the motto ‘Iran, the Colorful Dream of Silk Road’, ISNA reported.

Iran pavilion is located at the entrance of West Hall 2, New China International Exhibition Center, covering an area of 500 square meters.

Around 100 people including the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Reza Salehi Amiri together with Iranian publishers, writers, illustrators and artists will be present at the fair.

A series of publishing seminars, book promotion events, writers’ dialogues, illustrators’ shows and art performances have been programmed for the 5-day event at the pavilion.

“13 publishers and three literary agencies will present over 1000 books in various fields at the book fair,” director of Iran Cultural Fairs Institute, Amir Masoud Shahramnia, said.

Alameh Tabatabai University Publication with 70 academic titles; Samt Publication with 76 academic and literary books; Alhoda International, Cultural, Artistic & Publishing Institution with 80 titles in the fields of religion, literature and Iranology; and Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults with 100 books for children and teens will be present.

Also, Al-Mustafa International Publication Center with 80 religious books; Candle and Fog Publication with 40 fictions, Farhang Moaser Publishers with 50 dictionaries and encyclopedias; Saless Publications with 50 books in literature, philosophy, history and social sciences; and Negah Publishing House with 50 literary books will attend.

In addition, Hafez International Publication with 80 art books; Qoqnoos (Phoenix) Publications with 50 novels; Iranshenasi Publisher with 30 books on Iranology; and Sacred Defense Publishers with 50 titles on the subject of 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war (known in the country as Sacred Defense) will participate.

Three literary agencies are to introduce Iran literature at the fair. Kia, Pol and Tamass literary agencies will each present over 50 literary works.

The BIBF website has introduced Iran as “a country with a long-standing history, splendid culture and ancient civilization”.

According to a mutual agreement China will be the guest of honor at the 2019 Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF).
