After the usual preliminaries, theater troupes from Islamic countries would be invited to attend the festival, the director of the Art Bureau’s Center for Dramatic Arts, Mojtaba Zarei, said in a press conference on Tuesday.
The 25th edition of the Sureh Theater Festival will be running in Tehran from August 6 to 11.
The City Theater Complex, Andisheh Hall and the halls of the Sureh-Mehr Institute will be playing host to troupes from across Iran. A number of street performances will also be staged during the festival.
Rahmat Amini will preside over the jury which will include Mahmud Azizi, Ayyub Aqakhani, Hossein Fadai, and Morteza Sarhangi
The jury of the street theater section includes Amir Dejakam, Mahmud Farhang and Ardalan Shoja-Kaveh.
