Niavaran Cultural Complex

  • On Monday, the Niavaran Cultural Complex hosted a one-off musical performance by the Brazilian band Choro Livre. The program with a taste of local Brazilian and traditional African and European music was attended by Brazil’s ambassador to Tehran as well as dignitaries from several other countries.

  • The Niavaran Cultural Complex played host to a special event paying tribute to the late Iranian singer Nader Golchin. Colleagues and fans attended the Friday program in the Persian Gulf Hall of the complex. The veteran vocalist died at 81 after a long battle with lung cancer at Tehran’s Gandhi Hospital. Born in the northern Iranian city of Rasht, Golchin collaborated with many distinguished musicians in the traditional Iranian music such as Faramarz Payvar, Farhang Sharif, Parviz Yahaqqi, Ali-Asghar Bahari, Jahangir Malek and Jalil Shahnaz.

  • An exhibition on dialogue between Iran and Germany architecture opened in Tehran’s Niavaran Cultural Complex on 28 September. German Ambassador to Tehran Michael Klor-Berchtold as well as Tehran City Council members attended the opening ceremony.

  • The second edition of Show of Hands Festival is underway at the Niavaran Cultural Complex. Improvised music by various groups and artists using different instruments are being played in the five-day event until 6 September. Musical improvisation is the creative activity of immediate musical composition, which combines performance with communication of emotions and instrumental technique as well as spontaneous response to other musicians.

  • Niavaran Cultural Complex has hosted the sideline section of the 10th Fajr International Festival of Visual Arts. The program was attended by Deputy Culture Minister for Artistic Affairs Seyyed Mohammad Mojtaba Hosseini.

  • Niavaran Cultural Complex has inaugurated some of the top works of Kayhan Kalhor in Tehran. The ceremony took place on Tuesday, December 26.
