Imam Ali Religious Arts Museum

  • The Imam Ali Religious Arts Museum is the venue for Ashura illustration artworks by 20 illustration artists. The show runs until 20 October. In the Shia tradition, Ashura marks the climax of the Remembrance of Muharram, and commemorates the death of Imam Hussein (AS), the grandson of the prophet of Islam, Muhammad (S) at the Battle of Karbala on 10 Muharram in the year 61 AH (October 10, 680 CE).

  • The Imam Ali Religious Arts Museum in Tehran is playing host to an exhibition titled Ashura from the Perspective of Contemporary Iranian Artists, displaying artworks by 27 veteran Iranian artists on the theme of Ashura, the day upon which Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions were martyred in Karbala in 680 CE.

  • Tehran’s Imam Ali Religious Arts Museum has opened its doors to a magnificent engraved stones exhibition from the Qajar era (late 19th century), images that depict the story of Karbala where Imam Hossein (AS) and his 72 companions were martyred on the Day of Ashura. The program goes on until 12 October.
