TEHRAN.(HONARONLINE) – The Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMCA) has transferred Swiss artist Alberto Giacometti’s bronze statues, “Walking Man 1” and “Standing Woman 1”, to inside the art center after undergoing minor restorations to repair the damage caused by acid rain and air pollution.
The Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art has moved two bronze statues by Swiss artist Alberto Giacometti into its main building. Acid rain had caused damage to Walking Man 1 and Standing Woman 1, which were located in the courtyard of the museum. The ceremony to transfer the statues to inside the museum was attended by TMCA Curator Ali Mohammad Zare’, Swiss Ambassador in Tehran Markus Leitner as well as experts from the Alberto Giacometti Foundation in Zurich.
