• TEHRAN.(HONARONLINE) – The Tehran Auction grossed over 420 billion rials (over $10 million, $1=42000 rials) during its 11th sale on Friday at the Parsian Hotel in Tehran as 65 percent of the artworks were sold at the minimum prices estimated.

  • The 11th edition of Tehran Auction was dedicated to the Iranian classic and modern art. The Friday event sold a record 42.4 billion tomans ( (over $10 million) worth of Iranian art at Parsian Hotel.

  • An untitled art work from Sohrab Sepehri’s Tree Trunk series established in July 2017 fetched 51 billion rials at the Tehran Auction on Friday. Seventy-six lots went under the hammer at the auction that broke the records of previous editions by grossing over 313 billion rials (about $7.5 million).

  • Two artworks by Hossein Zenderoudi sold for 26 billion rials (about $550,000 based on the dollar’s official market exchange rate i.e. 42,000 rials for $1) at the Tehran Auction that was held at the Parsian Azadi Hotel Friday evening. A calligraphic painting by Zenderoudi sold for 23 billion rials, the second most expensive item sold at the auction. Another artwork by the same artist fetched 3 billion rials.
