Out of 9,998 artworks from 50 countries, three Iranian children grabbed silver medals, four received bronzes, and 10 others won honorary diplomas of the Japanese festival.

The competition is annually organized by the Ie-no-Hikari Association and Tokyo-based family magazine Ie-no-Hikari.

Mehrnaz Hosseini, six, Radin Karimi, seven, Parnaz Goodarzi, seven, Sheida Rezaei, nine, and Shadi Hosseini, 14, were among the Iranian winners.

The IIDCYA submitted 316 paintings to take part in the competition.

The Ie-no-Hikari Association works hard to foster the cultures of rural villages by publishing books and implementing various cultural activities.

As a part of its diversified activities, the association has held the World Children’s Picture Contest since 1993 in hope of creating friendships and mutual understanding between children all over the world.
