Iranian National Commission for UNESCO will hold a virtual painting exhibition featuring the artworks of the first edition of the Kerman International Children’s Painting Festival on September 7 on the commission’s virtual gallery.

The festival was held in May, according to irunesco.org.

The southern Iranian city of Kerman, which has been selected as a child-friendly city in a UNICEF pilot plan, organized the children’s painting competition to acknowledge the choice.

The festival aimed to get acquainted with intellectual products and artworks of children in other countries, create an appropriate platform for developing creative skills, strengthen visual analysis, introduce the capacities of the historical and cultural city of Kerman and use the capacity of this event to raise awareness and increase the level of knowledge of citizens, particularly children, about common global concerns.
