The exhibition’s opening coincides with the World Handicrafts Day (June 10), Hamid Vakilbashi added.

In this exhibition, over 50 modern and aesthetic artworks are on display.

One of the museum’s priorities during the closure of galleries, due to the coronavirus pandemic, was to display the artworks through cyberspace, he said, adding that over 6,000 art lovers visited the museum’s page on Instagram while it was closed for in-person visits.

Vakilbashi added that this museum has two general objectives: Protection, preservation and introduction of cultural heritage works related to pottery and historical glassware, as well as influencing the processes of strengthening glass and pottery production.

Currently, 2,064 pieces of historical pottery and glass are preserved in the museum, 899 pieces of which are glass, 680 pieces are pottery, 242 pieces are crystal, plus 243 exquisite objects.
