The exhibition " Nastaliq, National Heritage" will be open by display of artworks of Gholam-Hossein Amirkhani with presence of  Gholam-Hossein Amirkhani, Ali shirazi and a group of cultural and artistic figures at the Art Gallery on friday.

Amirkhani, who is the director of the Iran Calligraphers Association, was decorated with the Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters in March 2017.

He learned the Nastaliq style of Persian calligraphy from Seyyed Hossein Mirkhani and his brother Seyyed Hassan, two unparalleled masters of Persian calligraphy. 

Amirkhani is one of the few Persian calligraphers who has shown great skill in this style. Numerous calligraphers consider him as the best living calligrapher of this style.     

Amirkhani is the third figure selected as a Living Human Treasure.

The Divan of Hafiz, Tarji-e-Bands of Hatef Esfehani, selected poems of Khawju Kermani, In Memory Of Kalhor, Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, among other works are books which Amirkhani has worked on.

The exhibition opens on Friday (Agust 1) at 5 pm and will continue until Agust 11. 

Except for Wensdays, the gallery is open every day from 10-8 pm.
