The creators of the best ten ‘Circle of Life’ contest stories at the 12th International Festival of Photojournalism VILNIUS PHOTO CIRCLE will be exhibited during the Festival and published in the Photo Circle journal; they include Fatemeh Behboudi, Fabio Bucciarelli, Leonardo Carrato, Cristina Cosmano, Sandra Hoyn, Evgeny Makarov, Olivier Papegnies, Camillo Pasquarelli, Maurizio Di Pietro, Alain Schroeder.

Fatemeh Behboudi's documentary photography project, ‘Mothers of Patience’, became the finalist at the 12th International Festival of Photojournalism VILNIUS PHOTO CIRCLE in Lithuania.

In her project, completion of which lasted for four years, Fatemeh Behboudi has photographed the daily life of 40 mothers of martyrs and missing soldiers in the Iran-Iraq War in 15 Iranian cities.

‘Mothers of Patience’ is a moving project depicting the grief of mothers of missing soldiers during Iran-Iraq War (1980-88),  who live in hope of finally seeing their sons again—or at least holding a body to bury.

Fatemeh Behboudi has studied photography and, after graduating in 2007, has worked for several Iranian news services including the Iranian Quran News Agency (IQNA), Student News Agency Pana, Bornanews and Mehr News Agency.

A PHOTOGRAPHERS’ WEEKEND of the 12th International Festival of Photojournalism VILNIUS PHOTO CIRCLE 2018 will be held in Vilnius on November 30 - December 2, 2018, during which lectures, tutorials and conference 'PhotoJournalism Boundaries' will be delivered and the Festival prizes, provided by main sponsor FUJIFILM, will be awarded.
