The exhibit is dubbed “Rorschach and I” as the artist has drawn inspiration for her works from the images of Rorschach Test, a projective personality assessment based on the test taker’s reactions to a series of 10 inkblot pictures.
On display are 76 works, all on coated paper, that Kefayati has picked from among her 150-item collection, Honaronline wrote. In creating her works, first she makes ink splashes on paper, then tries to make more apparent the shapes her subconscious perceives of the splashes by adding more details. So the works actually depict her subconscious.
“The final works still do not feature a definite shape or image. Viewers may still see different images or concepts in them because people’s subconscious interpretations vary,” the artist says about her works.
The works are to remain on view through August 15 at the gallery, located at No. 644, Ghafari St., Fajr St., Motahari Street.
