He made the remarks on Sunday after paying a visit to the 10th Fajr International Festival of Visual Arts underway at the Saba Art and Cultural Institute of the Iranian Academy of Arts.

“I saw that there has been significant progress in the interdisciplinary arts via the Fajr International Festival of Visual Arts,” Salehi said.

“It seems the interdisciplinary arts are moving forward step by step leading to the creation of new arts, and the progress is quite clear in this exhibit,” he added.

New ideas are also seen among the displayed artworks, he stated.

The 10th Fajr International Festival of Visual Arts opened in Tehran on January 23. 

The festival has also organized exhibitions in dozens of cities in over 20 provinces.

The international section of the festival is also underway at the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Cultural Institute (ECI).

The festival will be running until February 23.
