A 7.3 earthquake jolted western Iran and the regions bordering Iraq on November 12 and claimed at least 438 lives, injured over 10,000 and left thousands homeless.

Among the presented items were two pieces by popular cartoonist Bozorgmehr Hosseinpour, 41. One was created to mark Universal Children’s Day,  November 20, with nails provided by the audience. By hammering the nails in the wall, he created the lines of his painting, Honaronline reported.

Further, during a charity concert by Iranian traditional singer Shahram Nazeri and Kamkars ensemble to raise funds for the people in Kermanshah, Hosseinpour created a large drawing (2 meters by 2.50 meters), of the people in the region, on stage in an hour and a half. The work was sold at the auction for $6250. All the proceeds were dedicated to the people in western Iran.
