Organized in collaboration with the German Embassy in Tehran, the exhibit is curated by German photographer Andreas Rost, once Fischer’s assistant and now an acclaimed photographer known for his black and white photographs documenting big-city life, Honaronline reported.

The exhibition will open October 20. Prior to the opening, on Thursday, Rost will conduct a session at Silk Road Gallery in which he will review a portfolio of Fischer’s photos and talk about the late photographer’s instruction method.

The exhibit will run through November 6. The venue is located at No. 210, between Qods and Vesal streets, Keshavarz Blvd.

Arno Fischer was one of the important photographers of the second half of the 20th century. His pictures and his classes in Leipzig, Berlin and Dortmund have significantly influenced three generations of photographers in both East and West Germany.

Fischer’s early Berlin pictures paint a deeply poignant portrait of the city wounded by the Second World War and the hysteria of the Cold War.
