The contest is organized annually under the auspices of Oshima Museum of Picture Books in Toyama, Japan.
From among 255 illustrated books submitted to the contest, ‘Giraffe Meal with Turtle Salad’ was selected as the best handmade picture book, LISNA, a local news website on librarianship reported.
The book is about a child who is picky with her food. Her mother tries to reconcile the kid with healthy eating through games and entertaining methods.
Dalvand is a member of Iranian Illustrators Society in Tehran. His winning book will soon be published in Japan and later in France.
