The play also brought Aqebati the award for best set design, and cast member Mohammad-Hadi Atai was selected as best actor during the closing ceremony of the event on Sunday evening.

The play is about a fish that lives in a small stream and wants to live a life with aspirations and purpose. He embarks on an eye-opening journey with the spirit of a dreamer experiencing an awakening, but in the process, the path leads him to wisdom, courage, awareness and study of complex social relations.

The awards in other categories of the international competition also remained at home as no production from overseas theater companies managed to win an honor.

Hassan Hajatpur received the best playwright award for his work “War Game”, and Zeinab Fakhar was named best actress for her role in the play.

In the national competition, Mohammad Jahanpa was selected as best director for “Tistou of the Green Thumbs”.

Theater troupes from Iran, Italy, Spain, Greece, Norway, Germany, Belgium, China, Kenya, Argentina and several other countries went on stage during the festival, which opened on November 19.
