In this article, we take a look at the activities that took place last week in different art fields such as  theater, architecture, cinema, culture and literature, visual arts, fashion, and music.

Cinema

-Cinema Organization of Iran director Mohammad Khazaei and the Chinese ambassador to Tehran, Chang Hua, have held a meeting to discuss the execution of memorandums of understanding signed by Iran and China to widen relataion in the film industry.

-Six acclaimed Iranian shorts, “Are You Volleyball”, “Retouch”, “Lunch Time”, “Adamha” (“Human Beings”), “Cloudy Children” and “Animal”, will be reviewed in a special program at the first edition of the Close-up Film Festival, which take place in March in Coquitlam, Canada.

-This year Soureh Cinema Org. International affairs, Business and Marketing Department is attending the 69th edition of Berlinale Market with 19 new feature, documentary, animation and short films.

-Iranian drama ''Hero'' will be competing in the 50th Belgrade International Film Festival as it failed last week to receive a nomination in the international feature film category of the 94th Oscars.

-Three films made by Iranian directors won awards in the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival, Berlinale.

-The Iranian short film, ‘The Wound,’ written and directed by Sahar Nourmonavvar, has been slated to participate in the 15th Media Film Festival (MFF) in the U.S.

-Iranian feature film ‘Asteroid,’ written and directed by Mehdi Hosseinivand, received a grant of €1,000 as well as the Young Jury Prize of the international feature film competition section at the 32nd edition of the Ciné Junior Festival.

Fashion

-A group exhibition of clothes was set up in the garden gallery of the Museum of Iranian Art, which has modelled on the architecture and construction of the Boroujerdi house in Kashan.

-A specialized workshop entitled "Generalities of design to sewing tents" will be held at beginner, professional and advanced levels by the Sarv Cultural Center.

-The 6th Fajr Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Festival ended on February 13, but its side exhibition will be open until February 19 at the National Museum of Iran, said Iran’s deputy minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism.

Visual Arts

-The fourth biennial exhibition of "Packages" will be held from February 18-27, 2022at Niavaran Cultural Center. The "Packages" biennial is an independent Iranian event organized by the Packages website in the field of product and packaging design.

-A collection of paintings by Maryam Farhang will display in an exhibition at the Art Brunch.

-Last week, Tehran galleries hosted 28 new exhibitions in various fields of visual arts.

Theater

-The closing ceremony of the 40th Fajr Theatre Festival was held on Tuesday, February 15, at Vahdat Hall. “A Requiem for Julius Caesar and Several Birds of Simorgh” has won awards in several categories, including best play, at the 40th Fajr International Theater Festival.

-The second national festival of  Asr-e Taziyeh will be held from February 16-22, 2022 at the Tehran Theatre Campus.

Music

-The 37th edition of the Fajr Music Festival in Iran was wrapped up on Friday at Tehran's Vahdat Hall, with the best works awarded.

-In partnership with the International Committee of the Fajr Music Festival, the Italian Embassy in Tehran hosted a contemporary jazz tour by Giovanni Guidi, Italian pianist and composer, and his Little Italy Orchestra.

Culture and Literature

-The Iranian National Commission for UNESCO announced on Tuesday the launch of an international prize to celebrate studies from across the world on the Persian poet Nemazi Ganjavi.

-The nominees for the "Child" section of the Shahid Ghanipour Literary Festival were announced.

-Egyptian scholar and columnist Youssef Ziedan’s 2008 book “Azazeel” has been published in Persian. Published by Qoqnus, the book has been rendered into Persian by Fariba Hazbavi.

- The Secretary-General of National Commission of Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) inscribed Iran's five cultural and historical monuments in its list.

-“Occupy the Economy: Challenging Capitalism” by Richard D. Wolff and David Barsamian has been published in Persian. Published by Akhtaran, the book has been translated by Mehrdad Shahabi and Mir Mahmud Nabavi.

Architecture

-An online meeting on "A look at the works and design process of professional architects" will be held on February 14, 2022.

-The results of the competition entitled the "Architectural Design of the Eentrance of Sabzevar Pars Steel Factory" ended with the selection of the top 5 works by the jury members .
