The 37th Fajr Music Festival will be held with 170 performances by 1, 690 artists (1,304 male and 386 female artists) from around the world, said a member of the Selection Committee of the festival.

Amir-Abbas Setayeshgar made the statement during the press conference of the festival, held at Rudaki Hall in Tehran on Sunday, IRNA reported.

Speaking about the Tehran performances, he said that artists of the capital will have 69 performances by 63 musical groups, which is the highest among the provinces.

At the non-competition section, the festival will host 146 works, he noted.

Among the 31 Iranian provinces, 11 will host the event, including 16 performances in the western province of Kurdestan, which has the highest number of performances after the capital Tehran.

Referring to the side events of the festival, Satayeshgar said, the anthem part of the festival, which will be held for the second consecutive year, marks the beginning of the days of celebration for the Islamic Revolution.

He added that at this year’s event, a special section is dedicated to honoring Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani.

Several groups from neighboring countries will give performances at the festival, which will be held from February 11 to 15, under the supervision of Hassan Riahi.
