TEHRAN. (HONARONLINE) – Parvaz Homay, an Iranian composer, lyricist, vocalist, and performer specializing in Persian classical-style music, gave a live music concert online at Vahdat Hall on Friday evening.
Also known by his given birth name Saieed Jafar-Zadeh, he performed with Mastan Ensemble. The founder and leader of the Mastan Ensemble was behind the one-off free online concert. Just like their counterparts in other parts of the globe, Iranian artists are playing live concerts amid the coronavirus outbreak. This is in collaboration with the Rudaki Foundation, the Tva.tv, as well as the Culture Ministry’s Music Office.
The coronavirus outbreak has caused mass cancellations of tours and concerts in Iran. But some artists like Parvaz Homay remain determined to connect with fans through live music. They have been livestreaming music and posting concert videos on social media.
