The second edition of ‘Show of Hands’ festival is dedicated to string solo improvisations, bringing together eleven prominent musicians from nine countries across the world, including Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, France, Norway, and the Netherlands.

Zsofia Boros and Golfam Khayam will go on stage together on September 1 at Niavaran Cultural Center in northern Tehran.

The second night will bring the performance of Ulas Ozdemir and Hesam Inanlou to the Iranian stage, while Anja Lechner and Ali Boustan will give their solo improvisations on the third night.

On Sep. 4, Ferenc Snetberger and Bjorn Meyer will go on stage, followed by performances by Renaud Garcia-Fons and Mats Eilertsen the next night.

The last night of the event includes a performance by Tony Overwater and a ‘surprise concert’ that may possibly be a group featuring artists from the festival participants.

In addition to the two main performances each night, the festival also includes a screening program of documentary films, workshops, and introduction of young Iranian artists in the form of a brief performance before each main act. There will also be meet-and-greet sessions with the artists.

The first edition of Show of Hands was dedicated to solo piano improvisations, showcasing the superb performances by Tord Gustavsen, Benedikt Jahnel, Colin Vallon and Stefano Battaglia among other notable musicians.
