Alizadeh’s concerts are part of an ongoing tour across Iran, titled ‘Didar’ (visit). He performs with percussionist and composer Majid Khalaj and setar player Ali Boustan. The latter learnt improvisation under Alizadeh’s tutelage, Mehr News Agency reported on its Persian website.
Didar started on May 7 at the iconic Vahdat Hall in Tehran, where the three musicians appeared again the next day. The trio had a show on Saturday in Shiraz and on Sunday they are to perform in Ahvaz.
Their next concert is slated for May 14 in Khorramabad, capital of Lorestan Province. And on May 16 in the ancient city if Yazd. The tour will have a month-long hiatus coinciding with the fasting month of Ramadan (starts May 17). According to the manager of the tour Mohamamd-Hossein Tutunchian, the dates and venues of later concerts will be announced before the end of Ramadan.
