Slated for February 15-16, the group will perform pieces from famous musical films and theatrical works.

Selected for performance are soundtracks from films like ‘Les Miserable’, ‘Phantom of the Opera’, ‘La La Land’, ‘The Song of Music’ as well as soundtracks from popular Disney animations.

Three musicians Yasamin Hosseinzadeh on piano, Pourang Pour-Shirazi on contrabass and Dara Teymourifar on drums will accompany the choir on stage.

According to the choir website, the non-governmental ensemble was established in 1999 by Qasemi.

It has performed a wide repertoire of the baroque music to folk and contemporary music, film soundtracks and Jazz.

In 2015, it won the second prize at the annual festival Choirfest Middle East held in Dubai, where they performed ‘S Wonderful’ a popular song by American composer and pianist George Gershwin, ‘O Beloved’ by Iranian composer Ahmad Pejman and ‘Agnus Dei’ by American composer Samuel Barber.
