A senior official at Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has announced her country’s willingness to bolster cultural ties with Iran, including in the field of cinema and film festivals.

Ms. Imrana Wazir, Director General of Pakistan’s Information Ministry Directorate of Electronic Media and Publications, on Wednesday hosted Iranian Cultural Counsellor Ehsan Khazaei in the capital Islamabad.

The two sides discussed cultural ties between Islamabad and Tehran, as well as the latest developments regarding those relations, including agreements reached between culture ministers during a recent meeting in Turkey’s Istanbul.

Wazir and Khazaei stressed the importance of promoting bilateral relations, with the Pakistani official announcing her country’s readiness to work on joint production of films as well as holding Iranian and Pakistani film festivals, among other things.
