The wide reception of the virtual book exhibition in Tehran this year promises the arrival of good cultural days in the country, said Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Mehdi Esmaeili, dolat.ir reported.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the country canceled its 2020 edition of the book fair and the 2021 edition was organized online.

According to the director of the Tehran Book Fair, Ali Ramezani, over 2,100 Iranian and foreign publishers are offering over 200,000 titles at this year’s exhibition, which launched its second virtual edition on January 22.

A ceremony was held at the Iran Book and Literature House last Saturday to launch the event running until January 30.

Referring to the broad welcome by the audience, on the sidelines of visiting the second virtual book fair on Saturday, the culture minister announced the one-day extension of this great cultural event until January 31.

In the end, during a dedication campaign, Esmaeili bought 100 volumes of books and donated them to the deprived areas of the country.
