Summer courses to teach the Persian language in Turkey began on Wednesday by the International Center for Teaching Persian Language to Non-Persian Speakers, in association with Iran’s cultural attaché in Istanbul.
The courses are being held in elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, and advanced proficiency levels.
Some 50 attendees will be instructed through sources provided by Saadi Foundation.
Two separate courses, ‘Masnavi reading’ – dedicated to Rumi’s extensive poem – and ‘A Selection of Persian Prose Texts’, will also be offered to applicants.
Students and Persian lovers from universities throughout Turkey, namely, Istanbul University, Boğaziçi University, Marmara University, Sakarya University, and Istanbul Medeniyet University are among participants at the online classes.
Established by the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution in 2012, Saadi Foundation aims to promote and expand the Persian language and literature abroad. Authoring 16 tutorial books and holding more than 200 courses, accommodating some 10,000 students, are parts of the foundation’s activities throughout the years.
