The ceremony was attended by representatives of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and officials of the Economic Cooperation Organization held in Uzbekistan Embassy in Iran’s capital Tehran on Wednesday.  

Uzbek Ambassador to Tehran Bahador Abdullayev presented the medal to the Iranian author, according to uzbekembassy.ir.

Abdullayev said Mohammadzadeh-Seddiq, with his wise vision and exploratory attitude, has removed the dust from the great heritage of Amir Alishir Navai, especially in Iran, which has resulted in the emergence of dozens of books and hundreds of research papers.

With his scientific initiative, he has delivered lasting works to the scientific and literary community of our large region, said the envoy.

“An important cultural event that has taken place in recent days and has been unprecedented in the history of cooperation between the two countries is that the efforts of honorable Mohammadzadeh-Seddiq has been granted a Medal of Friendship by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev,” Abdullayev noted.

Speaking in the ceremony, Mohammadzadeh-Seddiq said “I am delighted to see that my scientific and literary research has led to such a felicitous occasion.”

Amir Alishir Navai belongs to Iran and Uzbakistan culture, he said adding that Iranian and Uzbekistan's cultural origin is the same and that it developed from the same root.
