Mehdi Jafari said the number has been assessed based on the number of cars and buses entering the venue of the expo and the number of people arriving from the two nearby subway stations.

The international exhibition was held in Tehran from May 29 to June 16 with the motto of 'Quran, Ethics and Life'.

Jafari further said more than 40 Iranian and foreign media outlets covered the events in the exhibition, according to IRNA.

The international Quran expo — the largest Quranic event in the Muslim world — is organized each year by Iran's Culture Ministry's division for Qur'an and Etrat Affairs during the holy month of Ramadan.

Showcasing the latest Quranic achievements and products to develop the Quranic culture, the exhibition seeks to promote the Quran in society and help people get more aquatinted with the Holy Book.
