The Fajr Film Festival (FFF) announced on Monday that the final Digital Cinema Package of the 22 films which were selected to vie at the Iranian Cinema Competition (Main Competition Section) were delivered to the secretariat of the festival.

In addition, the lineup of 10 short films of the festival were also announced.

The selection committee members of Iranian Cinema Competition were Behrouz Afkhami, writer and director; Esmaeil Bani-Ardalan, university professor; Pouran Derakhshandeh, female filmmaker; and Hossein Zandbaf, film editor, producer and director.

Majid Shah-Hosseini, university professor and researcher; Esfandiar Shahidi, cinematographer and filmmaker; and Mohammad-Hossein Nirumand, executive director, were also among the members of the board.

Masud Kimiai will participate in the event with his ‘Killing the Traitor’.

Reza Mirkarimi will compete with his ‘Night Watchman’, starring Mohsen Kiai and Vishka Asayesh.

Ebrahim Hatamikia will participate in the festival as a producer for his son Yusef’s debut feature, ‘Golden Night’.

‘The Loser Man’ is another highlight of the lineup from Mohammad-Hossein Mahdavian.

The members of the short films’ selection committee including Ahmadreza Motamedi, Danesh Oqbashavi, and Hamed Jafari picked the following documentaries.

‘Gazelle’ by Mahsa Razavi; ‘Alliance’ by Reza Nejati; and ‘Coffin’ by Akbar Zare are among the short films of the festival.

Presided over by Masoud Naqqashzadeh, the 40th Fajr Film Festival will take place in Tehran from February 1 to 11.
