The third ANIMAFILM festival announced the members of its jury, comprised of professionals and children from Azerbaijan, France, the Czech Republic, Belgium, the UK, Georgia, Russia, and Iran.
The two Iranian artists will judge the films along with Alena Polikowska (Russia), Oleg Safaraliyev (Azerbaijan).
Zare and Vaezi’s screenplay for the short film, ‘Blowing,’ won the Best Screenplay Award at the previous edition of the same festival.
Zare is an Iranian animation director and stops motion animator.
He has made several short films, including his award-winning title, ‘Junk Girl,’ which won the Best Animation Award at the Milan International Film Festival in Italy.
As a scriptwriter, Vaezi has penned several works, including ‘The Messenger of Peace,’ which is on the peace-seeking spirit of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The festival is the first international festival of animation art in the Republic of Azerbaijan, which will be held in the two cities of Baku and Sheki from October 14 to 18.
The festival will show dozens of foreign and national animated films for children and adults.
The festival is supported by the Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture, the Sheki City Executive Power, Azerbaijan Union of Filmmakers, Embassy of the Czech Republic in Azerbaijan, Embassy of France in Azerbaijan, the French Institute in Azerbaijan, the Nizami Cinema Center, Mujru Publishing, Barat Abdullayev, and other partners and sponsors.
