The documentary, which had its world premiere at the Fünf Seen Film Festival in Starnberg in November, will go on screen in a special program dedicated to reviewing films from German-speaking nations, the organizers announced on Saturday.

In “Joy in Iran”, Susie, Toni, Matthias and Monika from the Clowns Without Borders travelled to Iran in 2017 to visit hospitals and social centers, orphanages, kindergartens, as well as street kids on public squares and streets in the country where they hope to bring children and adults fun and happiness.

The Clowns Without Borders go to crisis areas of the world to help people there forget their problems for moments by their funny performances.

Documentaries from Austrian and Swiss filmmakers will be screened during the program.

Cinéma Vérité, Iran’s major documentary film festival, is annually organized by the Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC).

Dozens of films from across the globe are scheduled to compete in the various categories of the event, which will end on December 16 with the announcement of winners.
