The festival will be screening 89 short films from 76 countries, including 14 titles by Iranian filmmakers.

According to Festival Director Faysal Soysal, the competition selection has 17 films, each one from a different country, including Iran, Turkey, France, Belgium, Palestine, Spain and Kazakhstan.

The selection "40 Years' Sake" has 18 films from six countries. This section is dedicated to amity, fidelity and appreciation in terms of creating the festival's identity and memory. Iran is participating in this section with 6 titles.

The "Panorama" selection offers award-winning short films from around the globe, including two titles from Iran along with other films from Turkey, the United States, Nepal, Croatia, the United Kingdom, Sudan, Switzerland, Russia and France.

In the "Private View" section, spectators will see two titles from Iran, inlcuding ‘Marmoulak’ (‘Lizard’) by Kamal Tabrizi, one of the festival jury members, and ‘Khane-ye doust kodjast?’ (‘Where Is the Friend’s Home?') by Abbas Kiarostami, as well as ‘Eyes of a Thief’ by Najwa Najjar, another jury member.

The International Amity Short Film Festival, according to Daily Sabah, is built upon the concept of friendship with spectators, and aims to share all sorts of films that point directly or indirectly to the relationship between humanity and the universe. This theme will be conveyed by using cinema, one of the most effective forms of contemporary art.

The festival is scheduled for December 14, 15 and 16.
