Tayidi had a great role in introducing theater to Iranian stage actors through his Persian translation of “An Actor’s Work on a Role”.

He also penned the book “Theory of Stanislavski in Training an Actor” in Persian.

“Last Hamlet” and “Attack of Crabs” are among the films he directed in addition to several shorts including “Iranian Historical Monuments”, “Art of Persian Carpets”, “Soil”, “Wind” and “Fire”.

His other Persian translations also include “Nights of Cabiria”, an Italian drama by Federico Fellini, “Citizen Kane” by Orson Welles and “The Blue Angel” by Josef von Sternberg.

His funeral procession will begin tomorrow at the Iranian House of Cinema, and he will be buried in the artists’ section of the Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery in Tehran.
