A selection of 15 films from 14 countries will be competing in the international section of the festival running from August 30 to September 5.

The lineup include “My Giraffe”, a coproduction of Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany by director Barbara Bredero, “The Witch Hunter” (Serbia) by Rasko Miljkovic, “The Seen and Unseen” (Indonesia) by Kamila Andini, and “The Night I Swam”, a coproduction of France and Japan by directors Damien Manivel and Igarashi Kohei.

Also included are “The Last Warrior”, a Russian comedy fantasy film directed by Dmitriy Dyachenko, “Home”, a South Korean family drama by Kim Jong-woo, “Alone”, a French fantasy and science fiction film by David Moreau, and “The Peppercorns and the Curse of the Black King”, a German adventure, comedy, and crime movie by Christian Theede.

The lineup also includes “Hero Steps” by Henry Rincón (Colombia), “Summer Children” by Gudrun Ragnarsdottir (Iceland-Norway), “Casper & Emma: Go Hiking” by Arne Lindtner-Næss (Norway), “Wendy” by Hanno Olderdissen (Germany) , “The Children of Genghis” by Zolbayar Dorj (Mongolia), and “Little Spirou” by Nicolas Bary (Blegium).

The organizers will unveil the national lineup in a separate announcement.

This year, the second edition of the Youth Film Making Olympiad of Iran is also scheduled to be organized during the festival. The Olympiad was launched last year as a special section for children aged between 9 and 16 to compete with their three-minute films.

The logo of the Olympiad has been designed by graphic designer Ebrahim Haqiqi.
