The Persian-language website Cinemadoc.ir is launched in collaboration with the Iranian Research Institute for Information Science and Technology (IRANDOC), affiliated to the Ministry of Science, ILNA quoted Cinema Organization’s deputy for development of technology and studies Mahmoud Arbabi as saying.

The database, among other things, responds to queries and information needed by professionals in the relevant fields. “It is to be constantly updated and completed. It is a platform for precise content in the cinematic field, a coherent system that can also help serve as a basis for cinematic publications. The database can provide major projects with authentic information,” Arbabi said.

“IRANDOC was founded 50 years ago with the purpose of organizing the scientific information of the country,” said expert in scientific management Farhad Shirani. “I hope this new database will be the onset of a larger research project for the cinema industry in Iran,” the news agency quoted him as saying.

Cinema Doc has two types of users. One group includes those who seek information without registering in the system. The other is the registered users who can upload information on the website. The uploaded information will be reviewed and evaluated before being published.

The database is rich and diverse in content. It provides access to scientific and technical reports, research projects, treatises, dissertations, conference papers, published articles, festival reports, books, lectures, posters, as well as lists of cinemas, experts and researchers.
