Directed by Marzieh Abrarpaidar, “Pet Man” received the award for best animated eco film, and “OBC Number 05” by Amin Haqshenas was honored with the award for best super short animated film, the organizers announced on Sunday.

“Pet Man” is the story of an animal dealer who falls asleep in his shop and has a nightmare in which he finds himself caught in an animal cage. He manages to escape and seeks to rescue other animals, but every time he is faced with an obstacle. He finally awakes from his nightmare but still feels surrounded with uncertainty and fear of the animals.

The OBC is a series of super short animations produced just for entertainment, sometimes highlighting environmental concerns.

“Oh, Mother!” by Paulina Ziolkowska from Poland won the Golden Kuker for best animated film.
