Mehrdad Oskui’s acclaimed documentary “Starless Dreams” is competing in the Budapest International Documentary Festival, which is currently underway in the Hungarian capital.

“Starless Dreams”, which has been awarded at many international events, shows the lives of seven young teenage girls sharing temporary quarters at a rehabilitation and detention center on the outskirts of Tehran.

In addition, “With Me”, Azadeh Qochaq’s short film telling the indecisive story of a girl who runs from her past, will be screened at the Cinequest Film & VR Festival in the United States, the organizers announced.

The festival will be running in the Silicon Valley in the northern part of the U.S. state of California from February 27 to March 11.

The festival will also screen “Mother, I’m Joseph”, a co-production of Iran, Iraq and Kuwait by Mohammadreza Fartusi.

Based on true events, Joseph decides to hide in a hole for 21 years to avoid fighting in the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war.
