The 22nd edition of International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) got underway on Friday in the Indian city of Thiruvananthapuram. The festival which has spawned filmmakers out of common men and women will show 190 films from 65 countries.

Villa Dweller, a 100-minute Iranian drama directed by Monir Gheydi and produced by Saeid Malekan, has secured a spot in the International section of the cinematic event.

The film recounts adventures faced by Aziz and her grandchildren who are among families of the Iranian soldiers stayed at residential villas near the frontline of Iran-Iraq war waiting to see their loved ones.

The White Bridge by Ali Ghavitan, Kupal Kazem Mollaie as well as Downpour by Bahram Beizaei are among other Iranian productions to go on screen at IFFK.
