The documentary film ‘Starless Dream’ was directed and produced by Mehrdad Oskouei in 2016. It tells the story of teenage girls under 18 who are held in juvenile detention centers. This film is the third part of a trilogy and comes after ‘it’s always late for freedom’ and ‘the last days of winter’.

‘Starless Dreams’ won awards at the 34th Fajr Film festival and the 66th Berlin International film festival (Berlinale). Mehrdad Oskouei won the True Vision award at True/False film festival which is given to the best documentary filmmaker.
