DesignMarch 4 to 8 May, Iceland

Now in its 14th year, Iceland's largest design fair spans the fields of architecture, fashion, interiors and graphic design.

Italian designer Tobia Zambotti, who created Couch-19, a sofa stuffed with more than 10,000 used face masks, will showcase Coat-19, a clothing item made of the same materials. Both products are designed to draw attention to the amount of plastic waste generated as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

DesignMarch's signature event DesignTalks, which is curated by Hlin Helga Guðlaugsdóttir and moderated by Dezeen's editor-in-chief Marcus Fairs, will take place at Harpa Concert Hall on 4 May.

The event will explore how designers and architects might propose alternative futures over three sessions. Speakers set to participate include architect and director Liam Young and Pentagram partner Giorgia Lupi.

Attendees of the British capital's annual craft festival London Craft Week can expect to see the work of 250 makers and artisans spread across 200 showrooms and exhibitions in Bloomsbury and Mayfair.

Sustainability in crafts is a key theme this year, with a programme that focuses on innovative technologies and materials such as Circulose by Renewcell, made from recycled textile waste.

Free talks, workshops and screenings all feature in the creative programme, including a panel talk hosted by Dezeen's deputy editor Cajsa Carlson.
